This project in Laurel Canyon in the Hollywood Hills consisted of a kitchen, office and new garage volume that was added to the original Laurel Canyon Cabin from 1947.

We designed the Addition as a large shed/ barn structure, so that the existing roof-line of the cabin can terminate into the taller volume in a geometrically and functionally coherent way.
The kitchen was over-sized to create a new main communal space for the residence that centers around the kitchen with adjacent dining and family space.
The added garage with built in charging for the owners electric car in the front of the house allowed us to turn the existing rear garage into living space used as a studio. This reconfiguration of the site allowed the owners to reclaim the rear yard after we eliminated the no longer necessary existing front to back driveway.
